I’m lucky to have been able to see three shinjinkouen performances since becoming a Takarazuka fan. They’re always so, so much fun. Shinko performers only get one chance per run to do their performance and as a result always put 200% into their roles.
Shinkos are always a little rough around the edges, but even with that I found the
( The Bad )
( The Good )
( Cast Rundown )
So in conclusion…no, it’s not an absolutely perfect show. But I really, really love it anyway, and I really recommend that everyone see it
I mean, I would have much preferred Alice or Nacchan.
I think my only real objection is that she's 164 centimeters. While Kiriyan claims to be 167 centimeters, I'm pretty sure she's lying. That's only about an inch in height difference o.O
In other news, poor Chiaki T__________T She was awfully cute as Louis Capet in Pimpernel.
ETA: Lest I sound like I'm complaining too much, at least we have a top musumeyaku now. It's about time!!!!
I especially like Yuuhi looking pretty, Alice-chan looking like she's up to no good somehow, Masako's amusing horns, and a certain girl in blue.
The whole production looks really, really pretty, and intriguing to boot. I'm usually not one for Heian-era nihonmono, but I'm actually excited this time. I blame it on the fact that it has demons AND a demon-hunting Micchan.
I'm crossing my fingers that pictures from Apasionado II show up in a few days :D
I have no idea why the review for "Amour, sore wa..." showed up in front of the "Bara ni Furu Ame" review. I give up on formatting in LJ with cuts -_-;;; I'm just grateful that everything appeared, didn't sneak out from under the cut, and isn't entirely in bold :P
( Bara ni Furu Ame review )
( From my limited internet research, this is what I've figured out about some of the other roles: )( Cut for speculation )
Micchan is, as I expected, in the Hakataza cast. I'm (knock on lots of wood) expecting her to be Watanabe no Tsuna when the actual cast list comes out. I've been a bit paranoid that she would be jumped over by someone during the regime change, but I don't see anyone in the cast list who would do that. Team Hakataza also gets Masako ♥ ♥ ♥
I'm normally not much of a fan of Heian era nihonmono (simply because they tend to be extremely angsty and the Japanese is hard to follow), but the fantasy element of this one intrigues me.
Also, much love for Mii-chan being in Phoenix Wright 2. I wonder if she'll play the same character? And I wonder what Tomochin will be doing. I think she could do a good Edgeworth, but who knows if they'll recast the role. If nothing else she would make a good villian.
