I don't say this very often, but the "Fifty Fifty" may in fact be the BEST. POSTER. EVER.

Seriously, look at it!  I literally started laughing out loud (and er, may have almost choked ^^;)  Look for the cows in the background, too ;)

Given that Mano Sugata is a former tsukigumisei, I can't help but feel a little proud ;)  I'm not really familiar with Mitsuru, but I saw her being very friendly with her fans at Ai to Shi no Arabia demachi, and I always am happy when someone from behind starts doing well <3

The Legend

matataku_hoshi: (Osa and Ayane-chan)
So, it looks like casting is up.  Unfortunately I don't know much about the original drama...isn't there one more female character that's Yuu-san's love interest other than Ayane-chan's character?

The only retirement is Mochizuki Rise, who I have to admit I don't really know (although she did have a shinko lead...).  It seems like the 86ths are getting hit hard lately, but I guess a lot of people do retire right after the shinko years.  (And let's face it, being a Takarasienne is an exhausting, expensive lifestyle to lead).

And er...does anyone have any hanagumi icons I could steal?  Right now this is my obligatory hanagumi one, but I feel like I should have more variety -_-;
matataku_hoshi: (Yuuhi "huh")
My Japanese is as spotty as ever, but from what I can gather from this announcement (and please correct me if I'm wrong):

1. Takarazuka will be doing an adaptation of a Korean drama.  I'm not familiar with it, but this is the NHK page.  Uh...cool costumes?  I'm intrigued.  (This was the part that confused the most, so please correct me if I got this wrong)

2. They're changing the schedule from 2009 onwards so that every troupe will have two Grand Theater performances in a calendar year.  (As it stands now, I believe they only do 8 Grand Theater shows a year, meaning that two troupes only do one in a calendar year).  This means that all Grand Theater shows will have their runs shortened by about a week.  Not sure how I feel about this.

3. Ticket prices are going up by 1000 yen for SS seats and 500 yen for S seats.  Bah.  Can't say I'm thrilled with this development, but I guess I'd rather Takarazuka stayed in business.

What does it say about me that I haven't even left Japan yet and already I'm eying tsuki and sora's dates for 2009?  Ideally I'd go at the beginning of June so that I could catch both tsuki and sora, but it's going to depend on my schedule...

ETA: Okay, it looks like they're giving the Korean drama to hanagumi and Yuu/Ayane-chan.  I know nothing about this series, but if the pictures are any indication, certain princesses will be dead.  I'm glad they're not giving up on Yuu.  And I'm really glad that Ayane-chan will be getting a cool role again!  It's been too long.
matataku_hoshi: (Kiriyan "just a little crazy")
I accidentally hit a wrong button and deleted all of what I had written.  So this is the somewhat shorter version: Kiriyan has been announced as being in Arex, tsukigumi's upcoming Theater Drama City show.  Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that means with rehearsal schedules and everything that she's going to be staying in tsuki for the time being.  The same goes for Yuuhi, who will be having a Bow Hall at the same time.  Yes, I know you all told me that Hankyu probably wouldn't move her, but Hankyu isn't always logical and I was worried.  It's not that I didn't want Kiriyan to be top star, it's that I was really worried that if they made her the next top star of hana that she was going to go the way of Kashige.  And in my very biased opinion, she deserves a lot more than that.

Hopefully what will happen is that Asa will (sadly) retire sometime in the next few years and Kiriyan will take over.  I suppose there's still a chance of Yuuhi taking over for a while.  Unfortunately now it's back to worrying about if Kiriyan will ever be promoted to top star due to illness.  I try to tell myself that it's not worth worrying about since I'm not a doctor, I don't have her medical records, and therefore have no idea what's going on there.  Besides, she hasn't missed a show since Bridge of Smiles, Bridge of Tears all the way back in 2003.  I guess having Finch is a good luck charm.  (I read that she bought him during the period that she was sick to cheer herself up).

In any case, with Kiriyan and Yuuhi out of the way, that leaves Yumiko and Un-chan as the candidates for Osa's replacement.  Given that Yumiko just got transferred to yukigumi, Un-chan seems the more logical choice.  I suppose that if she gets promoted then Sou Kazuho and Aine Harei will be bumped up?  (Assuming they don't bring anyone new in to do the nibante and sanbante roles).

*lets deep breath out* Whew.
.
