Ahem.  I finished doing "Mr. Bunbury" from Ernest in Love.  That's two.  I still have a bunch to go.  I think my next target is going to be "The Muffin Song."

*1: Due to the way the Japanese and English languages work it was hard to translate these lines with Jack and Algy going back and forth.  A (somewhat) more accurate translation would be “Now is a strict time where we are choked.”

 

*2: Once again, same problem.  More accurate would be “Let’s slip away from our plight.”

Oscar Wilde was indeed a very witty writer. Sadly my translating skills aren't that wonderful, so I'm not sure if this particular translation is the best judge of how the Japanese version did in keeping the wit.

I'll let you know if I branch out ^_^ If I get burned out on Ernest songs I think I'm going to go into the Kiriyan stuff in the Takarazuka 2007 mook...

Oh, it's so far removed from Oscar Wilde that there's no use really imagining the actresses speaking his lines. I was referring to Anne Croswell's efforts.

Hooray for finishing Mr. Bunbury ^__^ I <3 this song. When I was transliterating it I got like the first 6 lines (I so never would have finished). Good luck with the Muffin Song, that should be a fun song what with it speaking of muffins and destruction ~_^ Keep up the good work ^^
