What was your reason for deciding to become a musumeyaku?
Up until now, which production and which role have left the greatest impression on you?
I have earnest memories of all of them, but in terms of roles after all is said and done, the first one I received (1), Inuzuka Keno from the Bow Hall show “Legend of the Eight Dogged Samurai”, and Maria from the outside production of “West Side Story.”
What kind of musumeyaku do you want to become?
As a musumeyaku, or rather as an actress, I want to be natural, and someone who has the charm to draw people.
What’s a role that you want to perform?
Eponine from Les Miserables. I want to play a role where I can express something through song.
(1)「すべてに思い入れや思い出があるのですが、やはり”役”として初めて頂いた、バウホール公演“里見八犬伝”の Inuzaka Keno...”
What was your reason for deciding to become a musumeyaku?
To be frank, my height (laugh). The truth is I had wanted to be an otokoyaku, but because I had stopped growing… But now I’m happy that I’m a musumeyaku.
As a musumeyaku, what are things that you look out for on the stage?
There are lots and lots of minute details, but foremost, more as an actress than as a musumeyaku, “Being sincere on the stage.”
Up until now, which production and which role have left the greatest impression on you?
Hmm…there are a lot of them. Josephine from “Itoshiki Hito Yo”, and then probably being a Black Angel [from Elisabeth].
What kind of musumeyaku do you want to be? (What kind of musumeyaku do you want to become?)
When I’m standing next to an otokoyaku, after all is said and done I want to help the beauty of the otokoyaku to be seen… But, when I’m in private, I don’t really want to fall into the form of being like this because I’m a musumeyaku. (1)
What’s a role that you want to perform?
Any kind of role at all! It’s run-of-the-mill, but… (laugh)
(1) This is kind of a bold thing for her to be saying and I wasn’t 100% sure on the Japanese. 「男役さんの隣にいさせて頂く時はやはり、男役さんが素敵に見えるお手伝いができればなと。。。でも個人でいる時は、あまり娘役だからこう、という形にはまらないでいたいなと思います。」
