Congratulations Mika! I'll admit that I like Nacchan better, but Mika is certainly acceptable. (If anything, Nacchan is a little too much like Tonami, and it may have been eerie).
Oh, and other announcements *goes off to read*

Date: 2009-02-12 07:25 am (UTC)And I also like the idea of the next yukigumishow as スクリューボール・コメディ. I had to read this quite a few times ^^" The next show will be in Russia again *.* Really like this idea, though there are some parts in the summary... there seems to be Love Potion and Witches (hope I got this right). Well, I'm sure this show will be great! All Yukigumishows tend to be great! *.*
And the Revue has リオのカーニバル which means ~Samba~ right? <3

Date: 2009-02-12 07:44 am (UTC)I'll admit, the feeling of disappointment is starting to sink in, as I *love* Nacchan. But I was worried it would be Maihane Mimi. (The truth is I don't know much about Mimi, but I was getting bitter about her seemingly jumping over Nacchan AND Mika at such a young age :P)
But wow...what an underdog to get it!
Apparently yukigumi's next show is by the same guy who wrote Epiphany, which makes me hopeful. And samba=crack=good times ;)

Date: 2009-02-12 07:41 am (UTC)Hmm... news... I actually don't have terribly strong feelings one way or another. Not sure how I feel about my troupe doing the Korean Drama, but in another version... but I hear good things about the hanagumi version, so maybe it'll be good.
I'm kind of a fan of Russian themed things, so kinda excited about yukigumi. Not entirely sure how I feel about Mika... a little bit surprised, but damn... she was good as Madeline in Elisabeth. So not a bad choice... haven't heard her sing yet though...

Date: 2009-02-12 07:49 am (UTC)*looks proud* I think it's because I'm in California, meaning it's not particularly late here and I'm usually up. Plus usually by the time of night the news goes up I'm just in bed browsing the net.
But mostly it's because I obsessedly reload the homepage XDNot sure how I feel about my troupe doing the Korean Drama, but in another version... but I hear good things about the hanagumi version, so maybe it'll be good.
I guess they wanted to get what they could out of the licensing rights? And it always helps to give the new top a show that has some extra selling power (although I'm confused as to whether or not Taiou Shinjiki's selling power is helping hanagumi or not right now).

Date: 2009-02-12 07:53 am (UTC)maybe because I'm pretending that I'll eventually work on my thesisAlso, I kinda have the feeling that Chie has the selling power on her own, hehe.

Date: 2009-02-12 06:18 pm (UTC)Chie certainly is something else. But I worry that's just how we perceive her, and that she'll still suffer the new top awkwardness.
...convince me otherwise? XD

Date: 2009-02-12 11:30 pm (UTC)In my opinion, the thing I find most amazing about Chie is how good her reputation is. I don't think I know anyone who said "Chie isn't good enough" or "Chie isn't ready"... I think most people said, "Chie is really good, but it would be nice to keep her around longer" or "Chie is really good, but there are others who have been in line longer."
That being said, I can imagine it will be a lot of pressure for her to be such a young top star. But at least her troupe is pretty young and she does have the talent to back up the title. So maybe there will be a little awkwardness, but I suppose I have a lot of faith in her.

Date: 2009-02-12 10:33 am (UTC)Having seen both Nacchan & Minako playing Bonnie and their recent performances, I definitely buy Minako's acting and dancing skills over Nacchan's (she is too "typical-musumeyaku-ish" for me). I'm glad that this time Hankyuu has chosen a technically capable musumeyaku to match with Mizu, who is a fully fledged otokoyaku (both need to brush up their singing, though XD). Minako would be awesome playing a comical role in the show scheduled after Zorro.
And it feels *healthy* to have a top musumeyaku who originates from the troupe.

Date: 2009-02-12 06:23 pm (UTC)But I went back and watched the Kimi wo Aishiteru shinko digest, and I find Mika acceptable ;) Besides, it's nice to see the underdog win sometimes.
It is interesting, however, that Nacchan has worked with Mizu a lot more than Mika (I'm thinking of Brothers Karamazov and Kimi wo Aishiteru). But Mizu and Mika are in the same troupe, and I guess they would have had time to get to know each other.

Yes, agreed! In between Nene and Mika, this may be the start of a new trend. I'm hoping for Masami or Arisu for sora, and Ai-chan for tsuki <333

Date: 2009-02-12 05:34 pm (UTC)And look, her debut performance will take place (at least partially) in my city! Oh, that's incredible! Can't wait for the funny names and crazy stereotypes! I'm not expecting them to be as creative as they were when the made Nova Bossa Nova (I mean, you have to be really inspired to come up with a character named Pocket XD), but this is incredible! There's something about Ipanema, and joy and sorrow...and oh, look again! Carnaval! Amazing! (yes, I'm really excited about it XD)
