A very rough translation

matataku_hoshiTonight I discovered that the SkyStage website has transcripts of SkyStage's NOW ON STAGE, and I was bored enough to see what kind of damage I can do. I decided to tackle first portion of the ParisSora interview, which involves Sena Jun, Ayano Kanami, and Oozora Yuuhi.
I feel okay about the first half of this, but not really about the second half where Yuuhi and Asako are giving Mihoko a hard time. I worry that if my Japanese teachers ever see any of this they're going to cry to think that their school produced someone who translates as crappily as me :/ *grumblegrumble* I really miss Sherif-sensei having office hours where I could possibly bug her about something like this. Although I thinkkozuki said in a response to a different post that she'd take a look at some stuff *puppy eyes*

Sena Jun: An information network?
Ayano Kanami: The person who doesn’t see is surprised (laugh)1 It’s different.
Sena Jun: What kind of role are you?2 Kanami-sempai is… (laugh)
Ayano Kanami: Hard-boiled (laugh)
Sena Jun: Sorry, sorry. (laugh) Deadly serious, it’s okay.
Ayano Kanami: I have a younger brother, but that younger brother and I, we’re probably orphans, because the mother and father never appear, I think that they died when we were young3. The two of them work very hard to sell flowers. So, in an honorable way…
Oozora Yuuhi: It’s probably hard for you to say. A position of three men loving you in a Madonna-ish4 way.
Sena Jun: Your role is a Madonna-like existence.
Ayano Kanami: (laugh) That’s not true!
Sena Jun: You wanted us to say that, didn’t you?
Ayano Kanami: That’s not true!
Sena Jun: Sorry, sorry. That wasn’t very sensitive, thinking back on that (laugh)
Ayano Kanami: (looks down)
Sena Jun: I really do like everyone.
Ayano Kanami: You make that feeling a little.
Sena Jun: No I don’t! Everyone struggles!5
Oozora Yuuhi: Competition.
Ayano Kanami (to Sena Jun): But you don’t keep going away, do you?
Oozora Yuuhi: Because that’s what Mimi thinks. The fate of a swindler.
Sena Jun: What fate? That’s cool, huh, the place there…
Oozora Yuuhi: (laugh) My back hurts, but…6

1I had some trouble here. The original Japanese is: …観てない方はびっくりされる
2The original Japanese here is “どんな役なんだろう?” I couldn’t quite figure out how to put the “だろう?” in there.
3This is on the uh…more liberal side of my translations, but I think that gets the point. I hope.
4According to kozuki, they're referencing Madonna here. Yes, the singer. No, I don't get Japan.
5The original here is “みんな取り合いなんだよ” I, for some reason, struggle with putting “nan da yo” into sentences -_-;
6The original Japanese here is “背中に哀愁”. I’m thinking this has to be come kind of Japanese expression because otherwise it doesn’t make sense.
