First, the story of my search for Dal Lake tickets:

So I went ahead and registered an account with Ticket Pia so that I could log right in when sales started and purchase tickets for the Kanagawa performance of Dal Lake no Koi.  I waited by my computer until the exact second that it became 10 AM, and then I clicked on the sales button.

...Ticket Pia's server froze and all I got was an error message.  By the time I actually got into the sales page a good five minutes or so later, all that was left were some A class tickets for one of the four performances.  I quickly clicked on that, only to get an error message that those tickets were already sold out.

This was at 10:08 AM.

At this point I was starting to think that I was out of luck.  I looked at the list of tour dates that were within an hour and a half of where I lived and despaired of anywhere else having tickets either.  Saitama is the prefecture that I live in and there was a performance there on 6/13, but I had trouble figuring out their ticketing system when I looked at their website.  Having nothing else to lose, I decided to try calling the theater and see what would happen.  You have to realize that I'm mildly terrified of calling on the phone in Japanese.  Not being able to talk to someone face to face really ups the difficulty level.  But as I said, I figured I had nothing else to do.

Thank God when the phone picked up it was a live person and not a recording.  I said that I was interested in Dal Lake tickets.  She said "okay", and not immediately "Ha ha, that's funny", so I figured it was a good sign.  She asked me what date and what class seat I was interested in, which I also figured was a good sign.  And then it turned out that she actually had a ticket.  I was too busy being amazed that I had actually gotten lucky this time/fumbling with my Japanese to hear where the seat was located, but I didn't care.  I said yes, I would take it.  It was uh...rather humorous trying to give her my name.  Right now the ticket is just being held under "Rebecca", and I'm not even sure that it was spelled correctly when all was said and done.  But there is a ticket with my name on it (almost literally), and after some more stumbling I figured out that I had a week to pick it up at the theater.

I will feel ten times better when I actually have the ticket in my hands, but in the mean time, I think I scored a point.  I'm still rather unhappy with the way Takarazuka ticketing works and that's it's so damn hard for the general public to get tickets, but I'm very happy that I'll be able to see this show.  Due to the timing of when Osaka Samurai is playing in Tokyo and when Dal Lake is playing in Saitama, it's going to be a ridiculously Tsukigumi-filled week.  Of course, I mean ridiculous in the best of ways.

Today was also the first sale date for Soragumi's run of Valencia no Atsui Hana in Takarazuka.  Now I live in the Tokyo area and always just wait for shows to come to Tokyo.  After all, Takarazuka is a long/expensive train ride away.  However, this summer my mom will be coming to visit and we're going to be spending a few days in the Kansai region looking at Kyoto and stuff.  Since we were going to be in the Kansai region anyway, I asked my mom if she would mind going to a Takarazuka performance with me, since I want to see what the Grand Theater is like.  My mom (who has been pretty easy going about what we do on this trip) said that would be fine.

And thus I will be taking my mom of all people to Takarazuka.  She was one of the people who introduced me to Broadway musicals so I think it's quite possibly she'll enjoy it, but I'm not sure she completely knows what she's getting into XD  In any case, Ticket Pia was much kinder this time and I was able to reserve two tickets which I can pick up at Family Mart sometime later.

In other news, tomorrow is a big Zuka day for me.  For starters, it's the release date for the A/L DVD.  Being the total dork I am I have a copy reserved at Quatre Reves.  I somehow highly doubt that if I didn't have a reservation I wouldn't be able to get a copy, but as I said, I'm a dork.  The postcards for A/L also either go on sale tomorrow and went on sale a couple of days ago, I can't remember which.  Either way, there is much excitement in that department.  I'm also hoping that I'll be able to spot a glimpse of the talking Mizu Elisabeth clock tomorrow.  I'm really hoping that when it wakes up in the morning it'll ask you, "Shineba ii?"
(or maybe "Nereba ii?" if Hankyu doesn't feel quite that morbid)

The more exciting thing, however, is that I'll be seeing Sakura/Secret Hunter tomorrow!!!!  I honestly know very little about Hoshigumi, but from what I've seen of Aran Kei she seems cool.  I'm going to be rewatching parts of Singin' in the Rain tonight to get my Hoshigumi appreciation in *nodnod*  I will of course write up a review whenever I get my wits back together post-performance.
