It looks like already there's been some significant restructuring.
To start with, Percy is already the Pimpernel at the beginning of the show, BEFORE he marries Marguerite. I don't know how I feel about this (although interestingly enough this was also used in the 1982 Anthony Andrews movie version. Which I love). I quote: "Despite the fact that he finds himself in a dilemma between his love for Marguerite and his doubts about her, he encourages himself to overcome this first trial of his married life. The next morning he decides to tell some reliable friends that he is the Scarlet Pimpernel and convince them to join in his fight against the atrocities the French revolutionary government is committing."
I'm...not convinced on this one. It's not nearly as compelling as in the original musical version, where Percy becomes the Pimpernel to redeem himself after he learns of Marguerite's betrayal. And I will be very, very, very, very sad if they cut "Prayer."
There's a couple of other things that are noticeably different that I'm too lazy to go into at the moment. I'm okay with changes, just as long as they're not for the worse. And honestly, I'm a little worried...I hope they don't forget that this a comedy too!!!

"At the ball, Percy and his friends, dressed in unusual clothes, behave in such manner as no one can suspect their identities."
Comedy. Gold. :D (Cutting "Creation of Man" is what would make me cry. I pray Koike-sensei had the presence of mind to realize the appeal of such a number. <3)

We'll just have to wait and see when we get there. :)

But who knows for sure until it opens that it might be very good as long as the comedy is there and the drama.
