That interview meme
Feb. 21st, 2009 05:17 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me!"
2. I will respond by asking you five questions. I get to pick the questions.
3. You will post the answers to the questions (and the questions themselves) on your blog or journal.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions. And thus the endless cycle of the meme goes on and on and on and on...
From

1. What do you miss most about Japan?
I'm going to be extremely shallow and say Takarazuka, specifically Micchan. Obviously Micchan is gorgeous, talented, and incredibly kind to her fans. Moreover, for me (due to the fact that I joined her fangirl right at the same time I was making some major life decisions), she represents hope, and the idea of following my own heart. (This may not make sense to anyone else except for me ^^;)
After that, I miss a lot of the people I met there, particularly my fellow ALTs and the teachers at my school. It's different, though, because I can get in touch with them much more easily than I can get in touch with Hokushou Kairi ^^;;; (The latter I still write letters to very often and I'm happy to receive very pretty reijou in return, but it's not the same as being able to message my ALT friends on Facebook)
Lastly, I miss the Japanese public transportation system. I drive a Toyota now and am very fond of it, but it's just not the same T_______T
2. What would you say your personal style is?
I'm a big fan of long, flowy skirts. Unfortunately I really don't own enough of them these days *pout*
To be honest, the discussion of clothes and style makes me feel self-conscious (it's a valid question, so obviously there's nothing wrong with Jess asking it <3). I really hate the number of really judgmental people there are in the world. Sometimes I feel hypocritical teaching my kids (I work for an after school program) about how to have a healthy self-image while I struggle with the concept myself.
I could write a lot more about this, and eventually maybe will over in
cherrytop (my personal journal). I apologize if this was too much information -_-;
3. What is an unusual food combination that you like or way of eating something that is kind of uncommon that you'd like to recommend to others?
I eat bananas with peanut butter sometimes, but I'm not sure if that counts as unusual.
Whenever I eat Trader Joe's samosas for dinner, I usually also have yogurt, although not at the same time.
4. What is your "guilty pleasure" (besides Takarazuka)?
This is more of a vice than a guilty pleasure, but I am addicted to coffee and smoothies. California luckily has a lot of wonderful smoothie places. Other than Takarazuka, it's the other thing I let myself indulge in.
5. What's your favorite book?
Eeep, hard question. I'm going to have to say the "Song of the Lioness" series by Tamora Pierce. Those books got me into fantasy, and even when I reread them as an adult the magic is still there.
