The Second Life was definite Bow Hall crack, but in a good way.  Sora always seems to do well with crack.  To be honest, if you’re not a fan of Micchan/Tacchin, soragumi underclassmen, or Bow Hall crack, you might not necessarily like this one.  However, if you do like any of the above, The Second Life is a lot of fun.  And even if you’re not particularly a fan of Micchan or soragumi, you still may like it.  It is after all at its core a sweet story.

There were some parts of the choreography that I really liked.  Not all of it, but enough for me to give the choreography my stamp of approval.  I really, really liked the theme song and the song that Micchan plays on the piano.  The rest of the songs were forgettable, but nothing stood out in my mind as being bad.

The suits the various members of the mafia wore were hot.  Oh, and fedoras.  I was trying to figure out if any of them were recycled from Fancy Dance. Regardless, it was a similar kind of style.

Moving onto the siennes…

Micchan: Oh my God, I’m in love with this woman.  This show was basically two hours of Micchan getting to be her wonderful, dorky self, which is always hilarious.  Even when she was playing Jake the hitman, she couldn’t help but be a little dorky.  But more than that, though, she got to show off what a beautiful voice she has.  When the show did get serious, she was able to prove her acting chops as well.  I get the impression The Second Life was written for her, because it really played to her strengths.  I (obviously) really hope Hankyu continues to promote her.  I came to see this show for Micchan and I was NOT disappointed.

Tacchin: The only other time I’ve seen Tacchin was in Valencia no Atsui Hana as Marguerita, which was a pretty thankless role.  I liked her better here.  She and Micchan had good chemistry.

Chigi: Fannore, you’re going to be very happy.  Chigi gets a lot of stage time and is generally adorable and dorky.

I loved Nattori Rei in her roles.  She looked like she was having a lot of fun being goofy.  Really, the entire cast really looked like they were enjoying themselves.

Who else…Fujisaki Eri was adorably spunky as Ira.  Kai-chan was cute as Mark.  Julie, I apologize that I’m not better at soragumi underclassmen and I can’t point out specific people.  There was a lot of soragumisei acting goofy in the background and I think you’re going to have a lot of fun with this one.

Highly recommended for: Micchan fans

Recommended for: Fans of Bow Hall crack, suits and fedoras, soragumi fans (particularly underclassmen fans)

I pine for this show. PINE I tell you! And my little Eri-chan! I remember when I first noticed her in Understudy when she was teeny tiny still and caught my attention purely on the basis of how gleefully she was swishing her skirts in one dance number. And now she's all grown up!

I'm so glad it was good crack and not WTF crack, because based on just the synopsis I had a slight niggling that it might just be too head hurty. Oh babies, so much love and so much love for you, Becca, for the review!

I pine for this show too, and it's been only a few days since I saw it -_-;;;; I'm guessing at least a few months until it shows up on Sky Stage?

It's definitely crack, but I would say in a good way.

Glad you enjoyed the review. I'm just glad that it was comprehensible ^^;;;

Maybe if enough of us are begging for a DVD, Hankyu will listen and actually release one. *hopes!*

So much love for Micchan. And I'm happy that she played the piano herself, that's very cool! Thank you for your review!! <33

Micchan is doing her very, very best to steal my heart. Lately she's been succeeding quite a bit. You saw her at iri/de. You understand, I think :D

Apology accepted. ;-) You know I don't really expect you to know the names and faces of all the Sora babies just for my sake. <3

I admit to being slightly curious, though, as to whether Natori-san shot Yakumo Mika (Luigi) or Tsukie Juma (Paolo). I'm guessing Yakumo Mika.

Thank you thank you THANK YOU for all your information and squeeful reviewing and I do so hope you're right and the show goes to Tokyo!! There must be a DVD!!!

Does this mean that no sora underclassmen are going to try to run me over with the Cosmic Taxi?

Thank you thank you THANK YOU for all your information and squeeful reviewing and I do so hope you're right and the show goes to Tokyo!! There must be a DVD!!!

Afterwards, I asked the woman next to me "東京に行くって?", to which she said yes. But given the way that I phrased the question, I'm not 100% sure what she was confirming. Aaargh, I want Cate to get online so I can ask her about it!!!!

Eeee, thank you for posting this and the summary... I'm half asleep now, but will attempt a more coherant reply to all your posts asap, because, eee! <333 I've been dying for any news of what actually happens with Chigi, as her mixi comm hasn't been terribly helpful, so I am terribly thankful. *huggles*

I haven't seen you online for a really long time, and I miss you!!! (Okay, granted I haven't been online a lot either, but...) Do you have a working computer at this point? You mentioned some problems with that a while back and I was wondering if that was the reason.

Hmm...Micchan, another Sienne I should look out for, ^_^!

Sora always seems to do well with crack.

I know, ^_^! Every revue I see them do, it always looks ridiculously odd or just plain silly, but when you put Bow Hall in the mix, you are well assured that you are going to watch Theatre Of The Absurd right about now.

Great review as always, ^_^!
