The Second Life was definite Bow Hall crack, but in a good way.  Sora always seems to do well with crack.  To be honest, if you’re not a fan of Micchan/Tacchin, soragumi underclassmen, or Bow Hall crack, you might not necessarily like this one.  However, if you do like any of the above, The Second Life is a lot of fun.  And even if you’re not particularly a fan of Micchan or soragumi, you still may like it.  It is after all at its core a sweet story.

There were some parts of the choreography that I really liked.  Not all of it, but enough for me to give the choreography my stamp of approval.  I really, really liked the theme song and the song that Micchan plays on the piano.  The rest of the songs were forgettable, but nothing stood out in my mind as being bad.

The suits the various members of the mafia wore were hot.  Oh, and fedoras.  I was trying to figure out if any of them were recycled from Fancy Dance. Regardless, it was a similar kind of style.

Moving onto the siennes…

Micchan: Oh my God, I’m in love with this woman.  This show was basically two hours of Micchan getting to be her wonderful, dorky self, which is always hilarious.  Even when she was playing Jake the hitman, she couldn’t help but be a little dorky.  But more than that, though, she got to show off what a beautiful voice she has.  When the show did get serious, she was able to prove her acting chops as well.  I get the impression The Second Life was written for her, because it really played to her strengths.  I (obviously) really hope Hankyu continues to promote her.  I came to see this show for Micchan and I was NOT disappointed.

Tacchin: The only other time I’ve seen Tacchin was in Valencia no Atsui Hana as Marguerita, which was a pretty thankless role.  I liked her better here.  She and Micchan had good chemistry.

Chigi: Fannore, you’re going to be very happy.  Chigi gets a lot of stage time and is generally adorable and dorky.

I loved Nattori Rei in her roles.  She looked like she was having a lot of fun being goofy.  Really, the entire cast really looked like they were enjoying themselves.

Who else…Fujisaki Eri was adorably spunky as Ira.  Kai-chan was cute as Mark.  Julie, I apologize that I’m not better at soragumi underclassmen and I can’t point out specific people.  There was a lot of soragumisei acting goofy in the background and I think you’re going to have a lot of fun with this one.

Highly recommended for: Micchan fans

Recommended for: Fans of Bow Hall crack, suits and fedoras, soragumi fans (particularly underclassmen fans)

Hmm...Micchan, another Sienne I should look out for, ^_^!

Sora always seems to do well with crack.

I know, ^_^! Every revue I see them do, it always looks ridiculously odd or just plain silly, but when you put Bow Hall in the mix, you are well assured that you are going to watch Theatre Of The Absurd right about now.

Great review as always, ^_^!
