matataku_hoshi: (Finch "what?")
I'm embarrassed to say that I had my copy of How to Succeed for a little over a year before I actually watched it >.>

Some thoughts under the cut )So in short, you really should try to track down a copy.  But you can't have mine :P *clings*

...*wanders off to scheme about possible casting for a future production*

Many, many thanks to

[personal profile] sumire_no_hana, [profile] kozuki, [profile] mizukusa, and anyone else I may have missed for their help.  You guys are lifesavers.  There are still a couple of places that I feel unsure about, but I think this is as good as it's going to get for the moment.  May go back later before putting this on the TakaWiki.

Okay, so there's a total of 5 blurbs in the feature about Kiriyan and Finch in The Takarazuka III: Moon Troupe.  They each accompany pictures, which I will try to scan if I ever end up with a scanner.  This is number 3, a short one.  Very slowly working on the rest, after which time I'm going to see if there's someone out there who can take a look at them for accuracy before I maybe try to post them on TakaWiki.  Once again, this is a very rough draft.  Please don't reproduce this anywhere else.

"I can eat anything, but my favorite food is edamame.  It's cool, isn't it?1  Due to Kiriyan making me eat healthy food and training me, look at this tightly muscular body!  I receive many compliments of "This dog is the spitting image of its master!"

1. Finch uses the word "shibui", which can mean either "cool" (I think) or "bitter."  I'm wondering if he's trying to make a pun.  Edamame usually isn't bitter unless you try to eat it with the skin on, although given that Finch is a canine it may be hard for him to peel them ^_

Okay, so here's part one of my attempt at translation. I gotta warn you that this isn't my strong point and I apologize for any inaccuracies. I really hope my Japanese teachers aren't weaping somewhere. If anyone feels like helping me with mistakes, I'd be very grateful.

This is from The Takarazuka III: Moon Troupe, which I think was published in 2003. Either that or the beginning of 2004. Kiriyan, Rika, and Saeko all got little features to go along with their interviews, and Kiriyan's was about Finch. I decided to give this one a go because A) it's about Kiriyan, and B) Finch doesn't use keigo.

This is only the first paragraph out of about five, so I have a ways to go.
